Striper Migration Report | June 21, 2024
In this week's Striper Migration Report, Assistant Editor Matt Haeffner is joined by Capt. Lou Tirado of Diamond Pass Outfitters and OTW's own Capt. Robbie Tartaglia, to discuss the migration in Maine and on Cape Cod.
Fresh waves of migratory bass from schoolie size to cow class are pushing into northern Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine. Meanwhile, anglers around Cape Cod pick away at recent arrivals, from Buzzards Bay and the south side rips to Cape Cod Bay, as full moon tides put big bass on the move.

Just love it when a plan comes together👍👍👍
Good technique, been doing that for lake trout in deep freshwater lakes for a long time. Kinda like jerking copper line with flutter spoons.
Brian Coombs is a rotten human being. Known him for years. Great fisherman, but his real talent is being an unhinged douche.
Not sure. There's so many other surface lures I would throw with much more confidence that that
Awesome episode. These guys have great knowledge!
No they don’t. Where are the 50lbers?
Great video good job,
Brian Coombs is a great fisherman but he's got a hot temper. Pick another captian you'll have a better day
Great fisherman with a lot to learn about being a decent human being. Lots of good Boston harbor captians, pick another!
Known Brian for years. Great fishman but full of hot air. Not to mention a genuine dick and a closet bully. If you're looking for a charter, pick another captain and spend your money on a better person.
I’ve seen a lot of bunkers in Maine
Lol I submitted fish for over 10 years and never won shit. What a joke Not even a pair of sunglasses.
Great stuff guys. Hoping the wind cooperates this weekend so we can sll get out there.
What clowns
Yep. Heffner has to go!
Cheech looks like he's craving some nicotine.
The great Zynnie shortage of 2024 😂
We got a school of baby sized stripers in the Seekonk River the past few days towards the end by the Blackstone waterfall
Having these reports back is the best news I’ve gotten all week!
Absolutely awesome guys!!
It's definitely live-lining season here in the Western Sound. The sandeels have moved East and the bunker pods finally spread out from the Throggsneck bridge where they'd been sitting for most of the month. It ain't my favorite way to fish, but there's fewer more effective ways to catch a cow
What kind of rods were those man they are impressive. I use a little larger gear with conventional reels with 40 pound line using penn reel and shimamo talevera rods which I recommend highly
That sounds awesome definitely wanna give that a try!! Thanks guys!!!
Nothing is more badass than casting into a “boiling” school of striper. When the shad get all pushed up to the surface and they’re schooling. Every single cast hooks up on a sassy shad retrieved as fast as possible. ❤
What a great technique what a good video nice job
Nice presentation! Thanks for sharing the tech.
Can you give me the name/address of the people who mount the fish?
Miss Montauk is a great boat with a great Captain who knows how to find Fluke!
This is awesome
Too many comfort features for a fishing boat. Shades forward and aft sb electric vs carbon fiber poles.
What weight was the spoon ❤
We had 6 on dropped 2. Landed 4 100lb range bigeye. That was early July last year if im not mistaken. Not too far south of montauk. Have pics if you guys are interested in them. Boat was a blood bath. Not bad for a short weekend run!
Canada

So if your doing an NORTHEAST report, if you were reporting Maine NH offshore what would you call that?
Tuna have already been caught on Jeffries
Great advice by Josh!
PLEASE DONT LISTEN TO THIS GUY....USE A WIRE NET, NOT MESH, NO TANGLE, AND YOU HOLD THE CRAB BY THE BACK FIN, NOT THE MIDDLE, THAT IS WHY HE GETS BIT. USE A HEAD LAMP, NOT A FLASH LIGHT...AND "A JIMMY" CRAB IS OVER 7 INCHES, NOT 5 IN....LAUGHABLE
P/S......THE GUTS/MUSTARD IS THE BEST TASTE
I caught my first one of the year on a spoon. Usually use live bait, but they definitely work.
That's fluke bait
People been eating walleye cheek sashimi for a long while around me.
Beautiful creature
Funny I’ve never seen a bait caster rod with the eyes in a twist like that . I could be tripping cause I’ve never actually used one but there not all like that right ?
Not all of them are spiral / acid wrapped. Having the eyelets spiraled reduces twisting force on the line. Thanks for watching!
Cod cheeks and tongues are a Newfoundland delicacy
Definitely going to be doing this more now! Thanks for the quick tutorial.
that is so cute!!
When I’m jigging rubbers, they always hit on the drop
Not a bad video but the guys mentioned GT plugs/lures. Googling same shows plugs from South Africa. (Not sure that’s what these guys use here in CT). When referencing plugs/lures please be more descriptive. Now, what are GT plugs!?
We use to live line bunker to catch tiderunner weakfish off of Long Island back in the 70's and 80's
